Our first international expedition took the Mustachios farther from home than ever before and it was worth every mile.
Getting there was an adventure in itself. A missed connection in Istanbul delayed our arrival by a day, but it quickly became just another story to add to the collection. From a night in a converted prison hostel in Ljubljana to our final ride down to the Adriatic Sea, Slovenia delivered unforgettable experiences at every turn.
Over nine days, ten of us explored an incredible variety of terrain, from snow-covered alpine mountains and dense forests to rugged limestone trails and the picturesque coastline of Izola. We based ourselves in several small villages along the way, each offering its own character, local food, and interesting places to unwind after long days in the saddle.
Like every Mustachios expedition, the trip was about far more than the riding. It was navigating unfamiliar roads, sharing meals and local beers, laughing through the unexpected, and creating stories that get better with each retelling. We adapted, embraced the adventure, and had an unforgettable week.
Slovenia raised the bar for what a Mustachios expedition could be. It proved that the best trips aren't measured by perfect weather or flawless logistics, but by the memories created along the way.
Our first international adventure became one of the defining chapters in the history of the Mustachios and set a new standard for everything to follow.
